Information and Answers for Families and Caregivers

Hi, I'm Gretchen and I am here to help you any way I can.

Welcome to the CaregiverNeeded.com Blog, where we provide information and answer questions for families who need in-home care and for caregivers who provide quality care to those in need.

If you’ve been using the site for a while, you’ll notice a lot of changes. We wanted to tell you about some of those changes here so that you can get the most out of the new site.

If you’re new to the site, welcome! Read through our exciting features below and tell us what you think.

Here are some highlights of what we did:

1) We added a Registered Nurse to the staff (that’s me, Gretchen. Nice to meet you!) I’ve been a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years, and over the last 10 years, I’ve been a caregiver for patients with a variety of medical conditions, including Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Cancer, and Lou Gehrig’s Disease. I understand the emotional journey that many of you are going through, as well as the frustrations of getting and giving the right care. I’m looking forward to helping you in any way I can. And I intend to whip this technology staff into shape so we deliver you the facts you need, when you need them, to make your search for care or a caregiving jobs as easy and straightforward as it can be.

2) We redesigned the site to make it easier for new users to find what they need. Over the last 3 months, we’ve talked to hundreds of families and caregivers to understand what they wanted most to see on the site, and we included their feedback in the new site design. We know it can be a little bit of an adjustment for our existing customers to navigate the new site, but we’re always here to help answer questions over e-mail or the phone when they arise.

3) We added a lot more content about finding caregivers and finding caregiver jobs. Check out our Frequently Asked Questions , and throughout the site, click on the Learn More and Help links to get the information you need to find what you’re looking for quickly.

a) For caregivers, we’ve added features to get you a job even faster: You can now upload a picture to your profile. We monitor all the clicks on the site, and the profiles with pictures get 50-75% more clicks. So post your picture!

b) We’ve made it easier than ever to understand the differences between agency and private jobs so you can find the best job for you.

4) For families needing care, we’ve made it easier for you to find the care you need:

a) We’ve made it easy for you to tell us about your case and what you need with an on-line form. We’ve also added our toll free number on every page, because we want to hear from you and help you in any way we can.

b) We’ve made it easier than ever to understand the differences between agency and private caregivers so you can get the best care for your situation.

I’m looking forward to helping you and answering your questions. I’ll be posting once a week, and I’ve got many more topics planned based on the questions I’ve answered time and again over e-mail and the phone. I also want to know what you think. You can send me an e-mail or call me on our main number at my extension, 866-999-3227 extension 808.
